Brunswick Foundation Awards 100 Scholarships to Sons and Daughters of Company Employees
LAKE FOREST, Ill., June 3, 2009 – For the 52nd consecutive year, the Brunswick Foundation has awarded a total of 100 scholarships to sons and daughters of Brunswick Corporation (NYSE: BC) employees. Each will receive a single-year scholarship of $2,500.
The winners span across 42 Brunswick locations worldwide, and represent all Brunswick business units: Brunswick Boat Group, Brunswick Bowling & Billiards, Life Fitness and Mercury Marine.

Russell Lockridge, vice president and chief human resources officer for Brunswick. “Education is one of the most important investments any business or individual can make, and the Brunswick Foundation remains committed to this important principle."
Scholarship recipients are selected by an independent committee comprised of education professionals from Northwestern University, Evanston, Ill., University of Chicago Graduate School of Business, University of Notre Dame, South Bend, Ind. and Marquette University, Milwaukee, Wis. Scholarships are awarded based on the applicant’s academic record and leadership abilities as demonstrated by extracurricular activities. Financial need is an additional consideration, and scholarships can only be used toward a baccalaureate degree.
The Brunswick Foundation, which celebrates its 52nd anniversary this year, has been awarding scholarships to the children of Brunswick employees since its inception in 1957. In total, the Foundation has awarded more than $9 million in scholarships during that time.
