Knoxville, Tenn. – Aug. 14, 2007 – The newly styled 175 Sport takes to the open water with an attitude of self-assurance and a sporty look certain to catch the eye of boat owners everywhere. From the very first moment you step onboard and turn the key, the aggressive growl of the 3.0L 136hp/101kW Alpha I MCM sterndrive lets you know that you're in for the ride of your life.
As one might expect, the Sea Ray team has crafted a truly impressive boat offered in black, blue, red and yellow two-tone hull colors. In addition to these color choices, a new graphics package is offered complementing the contemporary, yet stylish, look.
Unlike anything else in its class, the 175 Sport is available in a choice of floorplans designed to meet the needs of just about any sport boat enthusiast. The standard arrangement provides ample room for up to seven passengers with its molded bow rider seating, two aft jump seats flanking a clamshell motorbox with two gas-assisted lifts, and two specially-designed bucket seats featuring high, narrow backs that not only look and feel great, but allow for ease of turning for sighting skiers in the water. An optional sun pad arrangement featuring two bucket seats with the same swivel function and an oversized sun pad with gas-assisted lifts provide easy access to engine and storage from the cockpit. Rounding out the impressive field of seating options is a plan which replaces the bucket seat to port with a back-to-back lounger. All seats are covered in mildew-resistant marine-grade vinyl with UV protection, insuring they'll not only feel great, but also look great for years to come.
When it comes to storage, the 175 Sport has more than enough for everything. Skis and wakeboards have their own dedicated compartment fitted with a fiberglass lid and heavy-duty vinyl matting. Additional storage compartments can be found in the cockpit side panels as well as a convenient net pouch located under the port dash.
The 175 Sport stands head and shoulders above the competition in its quality construction. Stainless-steel hardware, thru-bolted cleats, a fiberglass stringer system, fiberglass floor and an enormous, one-piece fiberglass base custom-molded for the aft jump seats and motorbox create a sport boat that's not only extremely strong, but very easy to maintain. The hull and deck are covered by a limited lifetime warranty.
Outfitting the helm is a custom soft-touch dash with visor that houses Sea Ray's custom backlit instrumentation. Negotiating tight turns or holding a steady course through moderate chop is a cinch thanks to the custom-padded tilt steering wheel and power-assisted steering. And as if that weren't enough, the 175 Sport also features a standard Clarion® single CD stereo system, four speakers, water-resistant illuminated rocker switches, and an automatic bilge pump. A convenient 12-volt outlet keeps cell phones or other handheld devices charged and readily available.
When watersports beckon, a stainless-steel ski tow eye and integral swim platform with two-step ladder are there to answer the call. And when it's time to head inland, the 175 Sport can be easily towed using its painted single-axle trailer with a swing-away tongue. Other options ranging from stylish canvas to trailer upgrades and snap-in carpet give you the flexibility to customize your 175 Sport however you want to best suit your boating lifestyle.
