US Marine Donates Trophy Boat

KNOXVILLE, Tenn., Oct. 16, 2007 – US Marine, the parent company of Bayliner, Maxum and Trophy boats and Meridian Yachts, recently donated a Trophy center-console bay boat during a recent ceremony to the Navassa Fire Department, along with its partner, the Navassa Police Department.

“We are extremely happy to help Navassa's rescue and law enforcement professionals as they continue to keep their community's waterways safe,” said Stephen M. Wolpert, president of US Marine, a unit of Brunswick Corporation.

“As a result of our new Trophy boat, we no longer have to rely heavily on the assistance of neighboring communities for waterways assistance,” said Donny Williams, fire chief of the Navassa Volunteer Fire Department. “Now we have one of the best, if not the best, water rescue vessels in the entire county.”

The donated 19-foot Trophy boat also includes a trailer and a new Mercury 115 hp outboard engine. “It's a flat, open vessel which allows water rescue divers the ease of placing gear in the front of the boat for easy access,” said Tony James, plant manager at US Marine's Navassa plant.

In July 2007, Brunswick purchased the Navassa facility to allow for additional and needed capacity to build larger US Marine boats. Located at the juncture of the Brunswick and Cape Fear rivers, the plant offers deep water access -- important for testing and efficient delivery of large boats -- and more than 336,000 square feet of existing production space. The site's 60 acres also offer room for further expansion.
