Mercury Marine General Counsel named Vice President and General Counsel for Brunswick operations in Europe and Asia/Pacific
Mercury counsel Joseph H. Pomeroy has been named Vice President and
General Counsel for Brunswick Marine in EMEA and Brunswick Asia/Pacific
Group.
Mr. Pomeroy will oversee legal affairs for Brunswick's marine operations in
Europe and Asia/Pacific. He most recently served as general counsel of
Mercury Marine, and will be succeeded in that role by Todd C. Lemke, current
assistant general counsel at Mercury Marine.
Mr. Pomeroy will report to Patrick C. Mackey, executive vice president, chief
operating officer - marine, Brunswick Corporation; and president, Mercury
Marine. Mr. Pomeroy will assume his new role Jan. 2, 2008.
Mr. Pomeroy has been with Brunswick Corporation for more than 20 years,
and has been general counsel of its Mercury Marine division since 1992. Mr.
Pomeroy joined Mercury Marine's legal department in 1987 after working 11
years in private law practice. He graduated from Valparaiso University Law
School in Indiana. As Mercury's general counsel, Mr. Pomeroy has been very
active and involved in all of Brunswick's international marine businesses.
"Joe brings distinctive skills and expertise to this new assignment," said Mr.
Mackey. "His knowledge of Brunswick and its marine businesses will be
extremely valuable as he establishes relationships with local law firms in the
regions where we are doing business."
Mr. Pomeroy will work with regional international management teams to meet
their needs for current and future legal support and services. He will be
located in Belgium and will operate out of Brunswick Marine in EMEA offices in
Verviers.
Mr. Lemke, who joined Mercury Marine in 1991 as a staff attorney following
seven years in private practice, has been Mercury's assistant general counsel
since 2004.
Mr. Lemke has directed a broad range of legal activities for Mercury Marine
and has been involved in almost all aspects of Mercury's business, including
litigation. He also has represented Mercury Marine in a number of marine
industry associations, as well as regulators such as the U.S. Environmental
Protection Agency and Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources.
Mr. Lemke received a bachelor of arts degree from Ohio's Denison University
and his law degree from John Marshall Law School in Chicago.
