Brunswick Dealer Advantage Expands Its College Scholarship Program in Canada
LAKE FOREST, Ill., May 1, 2008 – Less than two months following its official launch in Canada, Brunswick Dealer Advantage is expanding its available benefits and services to include college scholarships for the children of employees of gold and platinum level dealerships in Canada.
“Higher education is of tremendous importance, and it is an honor to help young men and women pursue their goals,” said Russ Lockridge, vice president and chief human resources officer for Brunswick Corporation.
Scholarships are awarded based on the applicant's academic record and leadership abilities as demonstrated by extracurricular activities. The scholarships are available to individuals working toward baccalaureate degrees. Application deadline is June 1, 2008. Qualified dealers can call 877-462-3884 for more information.
Scholarship recipients are selected by an impartial, external committee comprised of academic professionals. Last year, 25 scholarships were awarded to Brunswick dealer employees' children in the United States.
“Through Duncan's Boats' relationship with Brunswick and Brunswick Dealer Advantage, two of my children were both awarded $2,000 college scholarships for the 2008 school year,” said Jim Duncan, North Charleston, S.C. “It's gratifying to work with a company that provides access to benefits for both me and my family, and I'm happy to report my sons are doing great in school.”
Qualified dealers include gold and platinum level marine dealerships in Canada that carry Brunswick boats and/or Mercury engines, and Mercury service only dealers. There is no cost to qualifying dealers to participate in Brunswick Dealer Advantage, and dealers may opt to participate in all or as many benefits as they desire, depending on their unique business needs.
Brunswick Dealer Advantage features three levels of participation – silver, gold and platinum – each based on the amount of the dealer's business with Brunswick. The deeper the partnership with Brunswick, the higher the dealer's level of eligibility, with more benefits and services available to them.
In addition to scholarships, the list of Brunswick Dealer Advantage benefits and services available in Canada includes preferred pricing on customized retirement strategies and succession planning; supplier pricing on automobiles for dealership use and personal vehicles for employees; discounted rates on computers and equipment, Internet advertising, Web site management and design, and lead management solutions; preferred pricing on programs to enhance the customer buying experience including extended product protection; and long-term business enhancement programs such as discounts on achieving Brunswick marine certification and participation in a 20 Group, which allows dealers to learn from peers with whom they don't compete directly.
