Triton Boats Employees Receive Top Safety Award from Brunswick; Donate $10,000 to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital in Memphis
ABERDEEN, Miss., July 31, 2006 – Triton Boats, a leading manufacturer of high quality fiberglass bass, saltwater and aluminum fishing boats, announced today that its Aberdeen production facility recently achieved 1 million hours of work without a lost-time incident. To celebrate this safety milestone, Dustan E. McCoy, Brunswick chairman and chief executive officer, will be visiting the Aberdeen facility on Tuesday, Aug. 1, to present all Aberdeen employees with the Chairman's Gold Safety Award.
“At Brunswick, we believe it is everyone's responsibility to contribute to safety in the workplace,” said McCoy. “I'm very pleased with the Aberdeen employees' commitment to our high safety standards, and look forward to coming back for more record-setting milestones in the future.”
“Today's recognition is a testament to our team's daily effort to foster a sound and safe environment for all of us, as well as for our visitors,” said Earl Bentz, president – Triton Boats. “I'm very proud of each and every one of you.”
Along with the honor comes a $10,000 prize from Brunswick that Triton employees can donate to the charity of their choice. Employees of the Aberdeen facility chose to present the prize to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital in Memphis.
"We can't thank you enough for your very generous donation,” said Dennis Morlok, regional representative for St. Jude. “St. Jude provides healthcare to children diagnosed with catastrophic illnesses regardless of their family's ability to pay. The hospital's daily operating costs average over $1 million. These costs are primarily covered by public contributions such as yours. It is truly an honor to say thank you on behalf of the children and families of St. Jude."
Triton Boats has approximately 175 employees at the Aberdeen facility, which manufactures duck boats, bass boats, Deep V boats and pontoons, from 12 to 28 feet in length.
