Swivl-Eze® Announces Release of New Proprietary Helm Seat Pedestal Design System
Lowell, MI -- Feb. 19, 2007 – Swivl-Eze, a division of Attwood Corporation, has introduced a new innovation in seat pedestals – The Pinnacle Series. The new Pinnacle Series includes the Eccentric Swivel Slider and the 325 Seat Pedestal and targets the runabout and cruiser boat markets.
The Eccentric Swivel Slider and the 325 Seat Pedestal were developed utilizing Attwood's state of the art engineering and testing center to help solve issues associated with a confined turning radius while also providing a rock solid seating base.
Boat helm seats commonly encounter interference with the gunwale, steering wheel and engine controls at some point during the rotation. “Most of the time, problems like these are resolved by modifying the seat itself, usually at the expense of comfort and ergonomics,” said Karen Haga, Pedestal Category Director, Attwood Corporation. “With the Eccentric Swivel Slider, we've given our customers a mounting platform that solves the problem and adds additional functionality. Our product will now enable builders to mount a seat flush with the gunwale and still be able to rotate, creating a tremendous amount of new useable room in the boat.
Complementing the Eccentric Swivel Slider in the Pinnacle Series is the new 325 Seat Pedestal. The 325 Seat Pedestal has been precision engineered for exceptional fit and finish. The combination of these two components creates the ultimate seating system with best in class stability. Other features include:
- 3 ¼” tube diameter for exceptional stability and strength.
- Black trim ring on the base to hide fasteners and provide a clean sleek appearance (custom colors available).
- Cable activated slide and swivel that can be mounted under the seat at the front or side for easy access.
- A standard, wider seat mount slide is available to accommodate larger seats with seating areas up to 24”.
“Attwood has been raising the quality bar for over 100 years, and the new Pinnacle Series is a continuation of that commitment” says Chris Drees, COO Attwood Corporation. “This system truly empowers the boat builder to redesign the helm and seat without worrying about constraining pedestals and bases.”
