US Marine’s Reynosa, Mexico, Plant Receives ISO 9001:2000 Certification

KNOXVILLE, Tenn., April 2, 2007 – US Marine, maker of Bayliner, Maxum, Trophy and Meridian Yachts, announced today that its production facility in Reynosa, Mexico, was recently awarded the International Standards Organization (ISO) 9001:2000 certification.

The ISO 9001:2000 certification is an internationally recognized method of organizing and operating processes that affect design, production, delivery and service of products.

“We are extremely proud to have achieved this momentous milestone,” said Stephen M. Wolpert, president of US Marine. “Customer satisfaction has been, and will continue to be, at the forefront of everything we do. This certification illustrates our formal commitment to better serve our dealers and our retail customers through product quality and process improvements.”

“During the course of our certification, the principle of continuous improvement became ingrained in the way we operate,” said Robert Wehr, vice president of manufacturing for US Marine. “We will continue to focus on opportunities to increase customer satisfaction, sharpen our processes and improve product quality.”

The US Marine Reynosa plant, which manufactures Bayliner and Maxum runabouts, began its pursuit of ISO certification in July 2004.

“This tremendous achievement is a tribute to the employees of Reynosa, who have worked tirelessly to achieve this certification,” said Wolpert.

“Our facility is dedicated to the production of high-quality products,” said Oscar Riveron, Reynosa plant manager. “As this certification attests, we are committed to continually improving our internal processes with the end goal of providing the best product to our customers.”

The certification, which requires manufacturing facilities to meet specific international quality management standards and guidelines, was validated by Det Norske Veritas (DNV), an internationally accredited registrar for certification.

US Marine joins Sea Ray, Baja, Lowe Boats and Mercury Marine in the growing list of Brunswick Corporation brands to be ISO 9001:2000 certified.
