Brunswick Zone Carol Stream Implements Smoke-Free Environment at Its Bowling and Entertainment Center
Company Responds to Changing Face of Bowling
CAROL STREAM, Ill. (June 5, 2007) – While Illinois has yet to pass a law banning smoking in all public places, Brunswick Bowling announced that it has implemented a smoke-free policy at its Brunswick Zone Carol Stream bowling and entertainment center, which went into effect June 1.
“While in the past, bowling may have often been linked with smoking, today's bowlers are seeking out and enjoying Brunswick's family-friendly, smoke-free entertainment destinations,” said Nicola Danegger, general manager, Brunswick Zone Carol Stream.
“The face of bowling is certainly changing,” said Danegger. “And at Brunswick, we are helping to drive this through our exciting entertainment options that appeal to families and everyone ages 3 to 93, which includes a smoke-free environment.”
Brunswick Zone Carol Stream is the latest in Brunswick's chain of 109 bowling centers to go smoke-free. Nationwide, 70 percent of the company's bowling and recreation locations are completely smoke-free, while all Brunswick Zone facilities and Brunswick Recreations Centers currently have smoke-free times on weekends and evenings.
“Going smoke-free reflects our society today,” Danegger said. “Our customers are increasingly demanding a healthy, smoke-free environment, and we are happy to provide that.”
Brunswick Zone locations offer state-of-the-art bowling and scoring, video arcade games, billiard tables and stylish lounges with big screen TVs. Additionally, the state-of-the-art meeting rooms at Brunswick Zone are attracting a lot of companies that are looking for a fun alternative site where they can combine work and play in a smoke-free environment.
