Brunswick Bowling and Valcke Bowling Service to Co-Host Ball and Lane Maintenance Seminars During 2008 Euro Challenge

MUSKEGON, Mich. Feb. 5, 2008 – Planning is in full swing for the fifth annual 2008 Brunswick Euro Challenge, sponsored by Brunswick Bowling and organized by its distributor Valcke Bowling.

The tournament is scheduled for March 7-16, 2008, and will be held at Plaza Bowling Saint Maximin, in Saint Maximin, France.

Throughout the nine-day tournament, Valcke Bowling and Brunswick will host seminars for pro shop operators and bowling center mechanics. The seminars will be offered to participants in either the French or English language.

Rick Benoit, Brunswick's pro staff coach since 1998, will present a bowling ball seminar for pro shops and bowlers and will cover the importance of ball reaction and lane play. These aspects, combined with the physical game of the individual bowler, are keys to achieving high scores. Benoit's knowledge of the physical game, lane play, equipment options, mental game and the ability to piece them all together has earned him the reputation as one of the most balanced coaches in the world.

Brunswick pro staff members Diandra Asbaty, Mika Koivuniemi and Sean Rash will be available during the tournament to sign autographs.

Plus, Brunswick's Tom Tomaras will also be on hand to assist in ball layout and drilling of the participants' bowling balls. In addition to laying out balls, Tom will also be conducting daily mini seminars for bowlers that will help them choose the correct bowling ball to meet their styles and needs as well as offer tips and guidelines in order to properly care for a bowling ball.

Tomaras is a senior gold trainer and support manager for Brunswick pro performance bowling balls and frequently travels the world conducting bowling ball seminars and drilling workshops.

Tom Brown, Brunswick aftermarket product specialist, who has more than 30 years of industry experience and knowledge, will speak to bowling center mechanics and cover the importance of lane maintenance and its effect on ball reaction. Brown will discuss general maintenance and inspections, how to analyze the center's bowling environment as well as how to choose the correct maintenance supplies. He will also talk about ball motion, bowler styles and pattern design. Additionally, he will give Authority22® lane machine demonstrations. Brown will also be assisting with cleaning and conditioning the lanes with the Authority22 during the tournament.

In addition, Valcke Bowling Service will be conducting modernization seminars for bowling center managers as well as an event called “XPLORE BOWLING” where potential new bowling center business owners will be invited to learn about the popularity and excitement of the sport of bowling.
