Modernized Center Holds Grand Re-Opening, Raises Money for Charity

MUSKEGON, Mich., Aug. 7, 2008 – Ten Pin Alley, a traditional bowling center originally built in the 1960s, has been modernized to a new, boutique-style entertainment center. Owners recently combined the grand re-opening of the center with a fundraiser and raised over $4,000 for the Huntington’s Disease Society of America (HDSA).

Ten Pin Alley is located at 5499 Constitution Blvd., Hilliard, Ohio, about 15 minutes from downtown Columbus. It now features bowling, a redemption game arcade, an outdoor activity area, an elaborate full-service bar and much more. The entire facility stayed true to its roots and features a retro-style theme based on the 1950s and 1960s. The bar’s unique finishes, such as glass and terrazzo tiles with diamond steel plate flooring and 65-inch LCD televisions provide a rich, sophisticated atmosphere.

The facility features 17,500 square feet of smoke-free indoor entertainment with 16 lanes and is equipped with state-of-the-art Brunswick Vector® Plus scoring, 32” LCD overhead monitors, touch screen lower monitors and Brunswick Interactive Games™. The lanes also feature lounge-style sofas and loveseats along with custom designed, one-of-a-kind bowling pin coffee tables, which the owners designed themselves.

In addition, Ten Pin Alley also features “Spikes,” 6,000 square feet of outdoor fun, including a full-service bar, patio, cornhole “bags” game, three sand volleyball courts, an open fire pit that is often used to roast marshmallows, and many more activities.

Managing partners of the center, Sarah J. Garland and Elisabeth Purdy of Purdybowl LLC, chose Brunswick as their partner to upgrade their center because of the company’s commitment and longevity in the bowling industry. “The dedication of Brunswick to the building and success of our business, and their sincere approach were key factors in our decision to work with Brunswick,” said Garland. “The fact that Brunswick had the ability to complete this modernization and allow us to stay open for business was very important to us.”

The newly modernized Ten Pin Alley is designed to meet the entertainment needs of families and friends, as well as a location for corporations and schools to hold fundraising events. It is also a location for just about anyone who enjoys active entertainment.
