Dancing for a Cure at Brunswick Zone Carol Stream
CAROL STREAM, Ill. (August 13, 2008) – Local businesses and community organizations will be dancing all night long on Labor Day Weekend at Brunswick Zone in Carol Stream to support The Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA). Brunswick Zone is hosting a 12-hour “Dance-A-Thon for MDA” on Saturday, Aug. 30, from 7 p.m. to Sunday, Aug. 31, at 7 a.m. located at 170 W. North Ave. in Carol Stream, Ill.
The fundraiser, which includes raffles, door prizes, and a silent auction, will help raise money for the Jerry Lewis MDA Labor Day Telethon, which will be televised on Sunday, Aug. 31, beginning at 10 p.m. on WGN-TV. A celebrity appearance by McKenzie Westmore, who plays “Sheridan Crane” on NBC’s soap opera “Passions”, is planned.
“Our employees at Brunswick Zone came up with this great idea because they want to help support research for curing Muscular Dystrophy,” said Nicola Danegger, general manager of Brunswick Zone Carol Stream. “We are confident that our community will take part in this special cause, and we look forward to dancing all night long.”
Individuals are asked to donate $35 each to participate. Companies that bring 10 or more participants will receive two-hour free bowling passes. Product donations are also being accepted from businesses. All proceeds will benefit the Jerry Lewis MDA Labor Day Telethon the following day. Refreshments will be served throughout the night.
