Brunswick Corporation : Lund and Crestliner Boats partner on Stuff the Bus campaign to help students get back to school

New York Mills, Minn., Aug. 22, 2018 - Employees of Brunswick Corporation's (NYSE: BC) New York Mills Operation, home of Lund and Crestliner boats, partnered with surrounding schools to help more than 100 families with the added costs of back-to-school supply needs.

"Our employees on the Community Outreach committee were looking for a way to make an impact in the community for the school year and joined with the local Stuff the Bus program," stated Mary Bakker, a member of the committee. "The Stuff the Bus program works with numerous local families that need help with the cost of school items, such as backpacks, notebooks, pencils, folders, and other miscellaneous supplies."

The Brunswick New York Mills Operations Community Outreach committee looks for different ways for the company to get involved locally and to help make an impact in the community.  The committee is comprised of 14 employees from different areas throughout the operation.

"It is important for us as a company to help the schools locally, and it is a great feeling to know that 100 kids will be starting school this year with the tools they need to learn," stated Bakker. The group organized various drop-off locations throughout the facility and sent out communications to kick off the program and raise awareness.

"At this time of year many of our employees are shopping for their own families' back-to-school supplies, and the timing was perfect for a great campaign like this," stated Liz Holzer, another member of the Community Outreach committee. "The contributions came pouring in, and our employees created a new name for the event by calling it the Stuff the Boat program, which seemed to be a little more fitting for our manufacturing facility."

Between employees and a partnership with the Brunswick New York Mills Operations, soon there were enough supplies to help more than 100 kids, so many in fact, that the Lund 1875 Crossover XS overflowed with backpacks.

"We are so excited to be part of this campaign and extremely proud of all our employees who helped make this such a tremendous success," said Holzer.

"The Community Outreach committee members will deliver the Stuff the Bus school supplies to the local community next week, so when school begins on Sept. 4, the kids will have a nice surprise waiting for them," concluded Holzer.
